Looking Up - Reaching Out - Caring Within
His Table Community MealJesus said to them,..."And I give you a kingdom, just as my Father gave me a kingdom. Then you will eat and drink at my table in my kingdom." (Luke 22:29-30 NIRV)
His Table Community Meal began November 2, 2010 to serve our local community and offer a free meal to those individuals and families facing economic struggles. This free meal is served on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Winter Inclement Weather: If Romeo Community Schools are closed, please call the church office from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (586-752-9132) to see if the meal is being held. We will make every effort to have the meal available.
RUMC Representatives: Anne Wilber, Dave and Barb Arendts, Janet Bauer, Linda Schenburn
RUMC Advertising: Sue Goodreau
To volunteer to help or to sponsor a meal, please use the contact us page on this website or email romeounited@sbcglobal.net. You may also contact the church office at 586-752-9132.
At this time, we need approximately 5 volunteers to help with set up and food preparation (first shift 2:30 to 5 p.m.) and 6 volunteers to help with serving and clean up (second shift 5 to 7 p.m.). These numbers may change as attendance increases.
Current sponsors include Romeo United Methodist Church, First Congregational Church, St. Paul's Episcopal, Mountaintop Church, Bourdeau Family and Romeo VFW. All meals are held at the Romeo United Methodist Church. We appreciate and thank all of the meal sponsors and also Sheena's Market for their baked good donations.
