1st Scripture Reading – Ezekiel 36:24–28
24
I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your
own land. 25
I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your
uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26A new heart I will give you, and a
new spirit I will put within you, and I will remove from your body the heart of stone and give
you a heart of flesh. 27
I will put my spirit within you and make you follow my statutes and be
careful to observe my ordinances. 28 Then you shall live in the land that I gave to your ancestors,
and you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
2nd Scripture Reading – Philippians 2:12–16
Shining as Lights in the World
12 Therefore, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed me, not only in my presence but much
more now in my absence, work on your own salvation with fear and trembling,
13
for it is God
who is at work in you, enabling you both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
14Do all things without murmuring and arguing,
15
so that you may be blameless and innocent,
children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which
you shine like stars in the world, 16 holding forth the word of life so that I can boast on the day of
Christ that I did not run in vain or labor in vain
